This page covers your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. What we actually collect is on the privacy page and it is a very short list.

We are not required to have a Data Protection Officer and we do not have one. The person who reads that inbox is the person who deals with this.
The rights you have
- To be informed. That is this page and the privacy page.
- Of access. A copy of what we hold about you.
- To rectification. Correction of anything wrong.
- To erasure. Deletion.
- To restrict processing. Tell us to stop using it while something is being sorted out.
- To data portability. A machine-readable copy.
- To object. Including to direct marketing, which stops immediately and without question.
- Not to be subject to automated decision-making. There is none here. Nothing about you is scored, ranked or profiled by anything.
What is the lawful basis for holding my email address?
Consent. You gave it by asking for a free book, you can withdraw it with the unsubscribe link in every email, and withdrawing it does not cost you anything you already have.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Not to anyone, for any amount, ever. The only companies that touch it are the host, the email provider and the private repository where a free-book request is recorded, and none of them may use it for anything else.
How do I get a copy of what you hold about me?
Email hello@hometruthsbooks.com. We will reply within one month, and in practice within a day, because there is very little of it: an email address, possibly a first name, and a date.
How do I get it deleted?
Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email hello@hometruthsbooks.com and ask. Deletion is permanent and we do not keep a suppression profile beyond the minimum needed to avoid emailing you again by mistake.
Who do I complain to if you get it wrong?
Tell us first at hello@hometruthsbooks.com. If we do not put it right you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
International transfers
Our host and email provider may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they do so under the transfer safeguards their own terms provide. If that matters to you, ask and we will tell you exactly which providers are in the chain on the day you ask.
